 The role of women in modern society has really been changed, when we compare it with the previous centuries. As our country, became independent and the constitution of the country guaranteed equal rights for women, the women also The has regained her lost position and reasserted her equality with man.

In the early times, women were just confined to the household activities, serving the family and bringing up the children. Her live spent in looking after the family within the four walls of the home. Her life was not much better than a slave. Talents of women were restricted to kitchen, embroidery, and stitching.

A women was supposed to keep herself covered, and was not allowed to come in front of men and talk to them. Women had no say in the family matters. The life of women was a torture to her. She was considered weak and incapable. Women were kept away from the basic right of education also. 

With the changing time, the place of women has changed significantly. Women now hold an important role in her house and society. Everyone is now realising the fact, that it is not possible to run properly a house and all the important institutions of society without the active participation of women. In fact, women are now giving their valued opinion and expertise in almost every field. Today, we find women holding key positions in various industries, gOvernment offices and private establishments.In tact, women are giving a tough challenge to the men in every field of the society. In the modern world, women are politicians, doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, architects, pilots, astronauts, police and army personnel, etc. Our Country also had a privilege to have a women president,a women Prime Minister and two women as speakers of the parliament. Women have achieved the distinction of reaching on moon also.
